Rocky Hill Veterans Housing Project
At the Beginning of the pandemic we were able to collaborate with local artist and fabricator Manwell Gali, owner of Laced Up Metals. Running the project through Hester Fabrication we were able to be a small part of an awesome project.
Check out the page dedicated to this project and make sure to click around to see more of Manwells work!
For this project I needed to design a tool that would allow me to replace the crankshaft seal on an Audi S4 4.2. To better access the front of the engine Audi suggests removing the Air conditioning condenser. Being that I am unable to properly recover and recharge the AC system, I built a tool that would allow me to install the crank seal properly without removing the condenser or damaging the seal.
This tool indicated off the center of the crankshaft and allowed me to use the crank bolts to draw the crank seal into its bore square and bottom out to the proper depth.
Ultimately I was successful in using my mill and lathe to produce this tool, which in turn fixed the leak while keeping the ac system intact.
This engine test stand was built for the Cognizant "Making The Future Scholarship", the purpose is to help me with fuel injection conversions and engine builds on vintage hot rods. To build this test stand, I combined all necessary systems to allow both fuel injected and carbureted engines to run outside the vehicle.
Unfortunately, we cant post all the jobs we participate in. If you have a job that you would be willing to let us document reach out for a quote!
